Self-Talk – It Can Make or Break You

You can spend a lot of time in Life Coaching working to improve your “self-talk” and it would be time well spent.  Self-talk can make or break you in any endeavor.  If you don’t have a Life Coach to keep you from beating up on yourself, here is a simple little rule, courtesy of Dimity McDowell and her running coach Abbey.

“Don’t say anything to yourself you wouldn’t say to a friend.”

Dimity is co-author of Run Like a Mother: How to Get Moving–and Not Lose Your Family, Job, or Sanity by Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea.  I give this book two thumbs up.  Not a runner? The authors give plenty of excellent advice on living the athletic and competitive life.
